Mileage and Driving Time Benchmarks

Distance from midtown Manhattan, NYC, is 120 miles (approximately 2 hours); from Albany, NY, 35 miles (approx. 45 minutes); from Great Barrington, MA, 25 miles (approx. 30 minutes); and from Falls Village and Sharon, CT, 40-45 miles (approx. 50-60 minutes).

From the New York State Thruway (I-87)

Take exit 21; after toll booth, turn left and head east on Route 23. You will cross the Hudson River on the Rip Van Winkle toll bridge. Proceed east on Route 23 to 2nd traffic light (approx. 5.6 miles). At light turn left onto Route 23 and 9H and travel north 3.9 miles to 1st traffic light in Claverack. Claverack Post office and Market will be on your right. Turn left at light onto Route 23B heading west for approximately ½ mile; take your first left turn onto Stone Mill Rd. and travel 1 mile to intersection of Van Deusen Rd. Look for Loomis Creek Nursery sign and turn right on Van Deusen Rd. Come down to parking area and greenhouses on your left.

From the Taconic State Parkway

Take the Route 23 (Hillsdale/Claverack) exit off the Taconic State Parkway. At the top of the exit ramp turn right (if you have traveled from the north) or left (if you have traveled from the south) onto Route 23 heading west toward Claverack. Travel approximately 5.5 miles to the first traffic light in Claverack (Xtra Mart will be on the right; Claverack Market and Post Office on your left). Proceed through the traffic light; Route 23 changes to 23B on other side of intersection and continue for approximately ½ mile. Take your first left turn onto Stone Mill Rd. and travel approximately 1 mile to intersection of Van Deusen Rd. Look for Loomis Creek Nursery sign and turn right on Van Deusen Rd.. Come down to parking area and greenhouses on your left.
